Undergraduate Student Loan Solutions
Undergraduate student loans make getting a college education possible for many students. Perhaps you're financing college on your own. Or maybe your parents are willing to help somewhat, but they make too much money for you to qualify for need-based aid. Whatever your circumstance, Student Finance Domain can provide you with information to help you through the process of obtaining the right undergraduate college student loan - without a lot of stress.
Undergraduate loans are made for undergraduate students who are pursuing their first degree. These loans must be used to pay for the costs associated with an approved degree program and can include tuition, room and board, books, transportation, and other living expenses. There are various types of undergraduate student loans including federal loans that are made directly to students, like the Perkins Loan, subsidized Stafford Loan or unsubsidized Stafford Loan. There are also federal loan solutions for parents of undergraduate students like the PLUS Loan. And of course there are many alternative or private loans for students and/or parents that will have you packing up the car for your big campus move.

The subsidized Stafford
Loan and Perkins Loan
are especially helpful for undergraduates who demonstrate a financial need.
The Perkins Loan,
which is only available to those students with the greatest amount of need,
is always subsidized by the federal government, which is a fantastic benefit of perkins loans. That means that the government will pay the interest that
would have otherwise accrued on your loan while you are in school. The subsidized
Stafford Loan, on the other hand, is only subsidized for students with
financial need.
For students without financial need the unsubsidized Stafford Loan is available. This loan requires students to pay any interest that accrues on the loan while they are in school. The entire loan including interest, however, can be deferred until the student graduates from college.
Federal PLUS Loans are
unsubsidized undergraduate loans that parents or legal guardians can take
out to finance a student's education. They are many PLUS loan benefits for
both parents and students. To qualify for a PLUS
Loan, the applicant must have a clean and positive credit history. In
addition they must use all of the funds towards their student's education.
Other undergraduate college student loans that can help you finance college
are alternative or private
student loans. These loans are made to undergraduate students with parent cosigners by banks or other lenders and can help you meet the costs of going
to college as an undergraduate student. A number of different loan types and
repayment options
are available To fully compare your undergraduate student loan options, see
the Student Loan Comparison section.
